Private transport
For the locations of the tours which is up in the mountains mostly, we use 4WD or Jeeps. And for the others trips, confortable cars.
Lodging
During our trips we will be staying in comfortable and quiet places into the mountains, most of them very close to the birding hotspots.
Meals
We will enjoy the typical Colombian food which is very different depending on the department we are.

Excellent birding trip in the cloud forest with Diego
Our trip with Diego was excellent! We had never been birding before and decided to give it a try. Diego worked within our schedule and was easy to communicate with on the logistics.
We had an amazing time. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The drive up the mountain and the cloud forest are beautiful. It’s so fun to learn about the birds and then spot them. They’re lovely! Diego’s enthusiasm is contagious. He is so knowledgeable, it’s really inspiring.
A huge thank you to Martin and his family as well, who host breakfast, the hummingbird feeders, and find the Antpitta so you can see them in the forest.
Unforgettable Birding Adventures
Colombia Birdhouse is run by wonderful young birders named Paula and Diego. For English speakers like me, who speak High School Spanish, and can’t seem to really improve, Paula speaks fabulous English. So that is really helpful. Though based in Jardin, they are very well acquainted with the entire country and can take you birding anywhere you want to go. They are both very kind and very knowledgeable. Diego runs long-distance races at high elevations, which is amazing to me, because I get a little tired out at 12,000 ft. But it’s really great for birding, because a lot of the wonderful birds in Colombia are at high elevations. Diego never gets tired, and always is able to point out the bird, even in the fog and the mist on the top of the mountains! I highly recommend Colombia Birdhouse to anyone who wants a great birding experience in Colombia.
