Who are we

And why to choose us

With headquarters in the beautiful mountain town of Jardín, Colombia Birdhouse offers tours on one of the most biodiverse regions in Colombia.

We are happy to meet your every need: from a short walk out of town to see the Andean Cock-of-the-rock Lek, to a half-day drive up the road to Alto de Ventanas, to a four-day journey to the wilds of Chocó and other regions in the country.

Masked Flowerpiercer
Diego & Paula birding

We are Diego Guerrero and Paula Rendón. Diego is a trained paramedic, an ultra marathoner and a canyoning instructor; Paula is a graphic designer, an illustrator and a teacher. We both have a passion for birds, and we hope to share that passion with you.

Jardín

A three-hour drive from Medellín, sits at the top of the coffee zone. It is also within the range of many of Colombian great birding locations: Rio Blanco, Las tangaras, and Nevado del Ruiz. The town itself is filled with birds, and on just a morning drive the other day we saw a Yellow-eared Parrot, a Chestnut-crested Cotinga, and a pair of Black-billed Mountain-toucans.

We run a full-service operation: pick up at the Medellín airport; lodging and meals on our overnight trips, and guiding. Coffee tours at local farms are also available, and we are happy to introduce you to the culture and history of the places we visit.
